Your BOXED profile is your public face on the platform. It is where other members see your display name, your picture, your banner, your level and stats, and the collection you have chosen to show. Behind it sits your inventory, where the items you own actually live and where you act on them. If you would rather not be visible at all, Anonymous Mode turns the public side off without affecting anything you own.
Summary
Your public profile shows your display name, profile picture, banner, tags, affiliate code, level, stats, streaks, highlights and any boxes you have forged.
Anonymous Mode hides everything on your profile except your name and picture, and hides your profile and display name across most surfaces of the site.
Anonymous Mode is a display setting, not an account closure. You can switch it off again whenever you like and your items are untouched either way.
Your inventory is split into tabs and can be sorted, and items carry icons that tell you their status at a glance.
Binders let you display up to 24 cards each, with a maximum of 3 binders, unlocking at account levels 1, 25 and 40.
What your public profile shows
When another member visits your profile, they can see:
Display name and profile picture
Banner, the image across the top of your profile
Tags associated with your account
Affiliate code, if you have one
Level and stats, along with your streaks
Highlights, the pulls you have chosen to feature
Forged boxes, any boxes you have created and published through Forge
Binders you have set up to display your collection
Your level and the way it increases are covered in Levels, XP and daily rewards.
Customising your profile
Highlights
Highlights are the pulls you choose to feature on your profile. They are usually the first thing another member notices, so they tend to be where people put their best or most personally meaningful cards. You can change your highlights at any time, and moving a card in or out of highlights has no effect on the item itself.
Banner and profile picture
Your banner is the image across the top of your profile and your picture appears alongside your name. Both are optional and both can be changed or removed whenever you want from your profile settings.
Display name
Your display name is the name other members see next to your activity, in site chat, and on your profile. It is managed in your account settings. Display names need to be appropriate for a public platform, which means no impersonating BOXED staff or other members and no offensive content. A name that breaks these rules may be reset.
Binders
Binders are the main way to display a collection rather than individual cards. Each binder holds up to 24 cards, and you can have a maximum of 3 binders. They unlock as you level up: your first binder at account level 1, your second at level 25, and your third at level 40. The full guide is in Binders: displaying your collection on your profile.
Anonymous Mode and privacy
Anonymous Mode is the privacy control on BOXED. When it is switched on, your profile shows nothing except your name and picture, and your profile and display name are hidden across most surfaces of the platform, so other members cannot browse your profile or link your activity back to you.
What you should know about it:
You turn it on and off yourself in your account settings, as often as you like. It is not a one-way decision.
It does not affect your items. Everything in your inventory, your binders and your highlights stays exactly as it was, and all of it becomes visible again if you switch Anonymous Mode back off.
It does not close or restrict your account. You can still open boxes, play, withdraw and use every other feature normally.
It is a display setting, not a records setting. BOXED still holds your account information as normal, including anything needed for identity verification, shipping and compliance, and your own account history remains fully visible to you.
If what you actually want is to stop using BOXED rather than to be less visible on it, that is a different action. See Closing, deactivating or deleting your account.
Your inventory
Your profile shows things off. Your inventory is where you act on them.
Tabs
Your inventory is split into tabs so you can find things quickly:
Cards
Vouchers
Skins
Items
Limited Items
Sorting
Within a tab you can sort by Newest, Oldest, Most Expensive or Least Expensive, which is the fastest way to find either a recent pull or your highest-value items.
Item icons
Items carry small visual indicators that tell you their status without opening them:
Blue "NEW" pulse. The item was added to your inventory recently.
Lock icon. You have locked the item yourself. Locking prevents an item being sold by accident, and you can unlock it again whenever you want.
Turtle icon. The item is in high demand, which means shipping it will be slower than usual. Shipping timelines are covered in Shipping: tracking, timelines and costs.
Green shield. The item has 24-hour price protection from the moment you pulled it.
What you can do from your inventory
Sell an item back for gems, credited to your balance
Withdraw a physical card and have it shipped to you, see Withdrawing a physical card
Withdraw a CS2 skin to Steam, see CS2 skins: sending and withdrawing to Steam
Exchange an item for another of similar value, see Exchange: swapping items for other items
Add an item to a binder or to your highlights to display it
A side-by-side comparison of these options is in Cards: sell back, withdraw, exchange or display.
Troubleshooting
My profile changes are not showing
Refresh the page or restart the app, since profile views can be cached briefly after a change. Also check whether Anonymous Mode is switched on, because that hides the public view of your profile even though your edits have saved. If the change still is not appearing, please ask to speak to a human and our team will look into it.
Someone else cannot see my profile
The most common reason is that Anonymous Mode is enabled on your account, which leaves only your name and picture visible. Switch it off in your settings and your profile becomes fully visible again.
I want a card off my profile but not out of my collection
Remove it from your highlights or from the binder it sits in. The card stays in your inventory and is unaffected. Only its visibility on your profile changes.
I cannot add a third binder
Binders unlock with your account level, at levels 1, 25 and 40, and 3 is the maximum. If you have not reached the level for the next binder yet, keep playing and it unlocks automatically. See Levels, XP and daily rewards.
Common questions
How do I make my BOXED profile private?
You make your profile private by turning on Anonymous Mode in your account settings. This leaves only your name and picture on your profile and hides your profile and display name across most surfaces of BOXED. You can turn it back off at any time.
What does Anonymous Mode hide?
Anonymous Mode hides everything on your profile except your name and picture, and it hides your profile and display name across most of BOXED, so other members cannot browse your profile or connect your activity to you. It does not change your items, close your account or restrict any features, and your own account history stays fully visible to you.
Can I turn Anonymous Mode off again?
Yes, Anonymous Mode is a setting you can switch on and off as often as you like from your account settings. Your profile, highlights and binders return to their previous state when you switch it off.
What does the turtle icon on my item mean?
The turtle icon means the item is in high demand and shipping it will take longer than usual. The item is otherwise normal and can be sold back, withdrawn or displayed like any other.
What does the lock icon on my item mean?
The lock icon means you have locked that item yourself, which prevents it being sold by accident. You can unlock the item again from your inventory whenever you want to sell or withdraw it.
What does the green shield on my item mean?
The green shield means the item has 24-hour price protection running from the moment you pulled it.
How do I display my cards on my profile?
You display cards on your profile using binders, which hold up to 24 cards each, with a maximum of 3 binders unlocking at account levels 1, 25 and 40. You can also feature individual cards in your highlights.
How do I sort my inventory?
You can sort your inventory by Newest, Oldest, Most Expensive or Least Expensive within each tab. The tabs themselves are Cards, Vouchers, Skins, Items and Limited Items.
Does hiding my profile hide my items too?
Turning on Anonymous Mode hides the highlights and binders displayed on your profile, leaving only your name and picture. Your items themselves are not affected: they stay in your inventory and remain fully usable, and they become visible on your profile again if you switch Anonymous Mode off.
