Withdrawing a physical card

How to withdraw a physical card from BOXED: eligibility, step by step, combining cards to save on shipping, where we ship, ship timings, duties, and what to do after you order.

If you would rather hold the real card than its gem value, you can withdraw it and have it shipped to you. This article covers how to do it, what is eligible, how to combine cards to save on shipping, and what happens after you place the order.

Quick summary

To withdraw a physical card, open your inventory, select the card, choose to ship it to your address, confirm your shipping address, and pay the shipping fee in gems. Cards withdrawn within 24 hours of your first card share a single shipping cost, for up to 15 cards, and a single withdrawal can contain up to 75 cards. We ship to the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and orders typically ship within 2 to 4 weeks. Cards are sent in near-mint condition, and you can follow the order under Withdrawal History.

Before you withdraw

Two things are worth checking first, because they are much easier to sort out before an order exists than after:

  • Your shipping address is correct and current. You can view and update your default shipping address in your account settings at any time, and this is the address a new withdrawal will use. Doing it beforehand avoids any need to correct an order later. See changing your shipping address.

  • Your item is eligible. Items from the free signup box cannot be withdrawn until you have purchased at least 500 gems on your account. Once you have made a gem purchase of 500 gems or more, they unlock.

How to withdraw a physical card

  1. Open your inventory and go to the Cards tab.

  2. Select the card you want, then choose withdraw or ship to address.

  3. Confirm your shipping address on the checkout screen.

  4. Pay the shipping fee, which is charged in gems. If your balance is short, you can purchase gems first through Refill Gems.

  5. Confirm the order. It moves into processing and appears in Withdrawal History.

  6. Once the order is dispatched, tracking is provided so you can follow the parcel.

Combining cards into one shipment

You do not have to pay shipping separately for every card. Cards withdrawn within 24 hours of your first card share a single shipping cost, for up to 15 cards. In practice this means that if you plan to withdraw several cards, doing them inside the same 24 hour window is considerably cheaper than spreading them across days.

A single withdrawal can contain up to 75 cards in total. If you have more than that, what you can do is submit multiple withdrawals.

Items obtained through the Marketplace work differently. Graded slabs are withdrawn one at a time and are not combined with raw card orders, and Marketplace items carry their own processing time of 3 to 10 days before shipping. See Marketplace: exchange cards or skins for slabs and CS2 skins.

Where we ship and how long it takes

Physical withdrawals are shipped to the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. If you are outside those countries, physical withdrawal is not available to you, but you can still realise the value of your items in other ways: sell the card back for its gem value, swap it through Exchange, exchange it in the Marketplace, or, where your account has crypto access, use crypto withdrawals.

Note also that BOXED is not available at all in Michigan, Washington, Louisiana, and South Carolina. That is a full platform restriction rather than a shipping one, and no alternative withdrawal method works around it. See regional availability and "action not permitted" errors.

On timing:

  • Standard orders typically ship within 2 to 4 weeks of the withdrawal being placed.

  • High-demand items, shown with a turtle icon in your inventory, can take up to 5 weeks to ship.

  • Once dispatched, the parcel typically arrives within the carrier's stated window from the ship date. BOXED commits to ship dates rather than delivery dates, because the final leg is controlled by the carrier rather than by us.

Shipping is paid in gems and the amount is shown before you confirm. Full cost and tracking detail is in shipping: tracking, timelines and costs, and limits and status stages are covered in withdrawal fees, limits and status.

Duties and taxes

Any customs duties, import charges, or taxes applied to a shipment are the responsibility of the recipient. These are levied by the destination country rather than by BOXED, they are not included in the shipping fee you pay in gems, and they are typically collected by the carrier before or at delivery. If you are withdrawing to Canada or the UK, it is worth factoring that in before you confirm a large order.

Card condition

Cards are shipped in near-mint condition and packed for protection in transit. If a specific card cannot be provided as expected, we will contact you with your options before anything ships, rather than sending a substitute without asking. If a card arrives damaged, defective, or is not the card you withdrew, see damaged, defective, or wrong card received.

Common questions

Can I combine cards to save on shipping?

Yes, you can combine cards to save on shipping. Cards withdrawn within 24 hours of your first card share a single shipping cost, for up to 15 cards, and a single withdrawal can hold up to 75 cards in total. Graded slabs from the Marketplace are handled separately and are withdrawn one at a time.

Where can I get a card shipped?

Physical cards can be shipped to addresses in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. If you are outside those countries, you can instead sell the card back for gems, swap it via Exchange, exchange it in the Marketplace, or use crypto withdrawal if your account has crypto access.

How long does a physical withdrawal take?

A physical withdrawal typically ships within 2 to 4 weeks of being placed, and up to 5 weeks for high-demand items marked with a turtle icon. After dispatch, the parcel typically arrives within the carrier's stated window from the ship date, since BOXED commits to ship dates rather than delivery dates.

How much does shipping cost, and how do I pay it?

Shipping for a physical withdrawal is paid in gems, and the exact amount is shown on the confirmation screen before you commit to the order. If your gem balance is short, you can purchase gems through Refill Gems and then complete the withdrawal.

Will I have to pay customs or import charges?

Any customs duties, import charges, or taxes are the responsibility of the recipient and are not included in the shipping fee you pay in gems. They are set by the destination country and usually collected by the carrier around the time of delivery, so factor them in if you are withdrawing to Canada or the UK.

Can I change my mind after withdrawing?

Yes, you can cancel a whole withdrawal while it is still pending and has not been dispatched. See cancelling an order or withdrawal for how to do it and what happens to the item and the shipping gems.

Can I have a card shipped to somebody else?

Withdrawals ship to the registered address on your own account, so a card cannot be sent directly to another person, and BOXED does not support gifting items between accounts. What you can do is withdraw the card to yourself and pass it on once it arrives.

Can I change the address on an order I have already placed?

Yes, an address on an order can be corrected while the order is still pending and has not been dispatched. Separately from any individual order, you can update the default shipping address on your account in settings whenever you like, and that address is used for every future withdrawal. See changing your shipping address.

Where do I see the status of my withdrawal?

You can see the status of any withdrawal under Withdrawal History on your account, which shows each order and the stage it has reached. See withdrawal fees, limits and status for what each stage means.
