What is Hop or Drop?
Hop or Drop is a multiplayer Frogger-style game where you play with gems and try to cash out at increasing multipliers. Choose your gem amount, hop across traffic lanes, and decide when to Drop Out — or risk it all for a bigger reward!
How to Play
Choose your gem amount — Select from preset amounts: 100 / 500 / 1,000 / 2,000 / 5,000 / 10,000 / 30,000 / 50,000 / 75,000 / 100,000 gems. Custom amounts are not available.
Join a round — Enter the lobby and wait for the game to start. Multiple players participate in each round.
Hop or Drop Out — After each successful hop, the multiplier increases. You can Drop Out at any time to cash out, or keep hopping for a higher multiplier.
Collect your winnings — If you Drop Out, you receive an item worth your gems multiplied by the current multiplier. Won items go to your inventory.

Hop 1: 0.5x return on your gems
Hop 2: 0.75x return on your gems
Subsequent hops: multiplier continues increasing
What happens if my frog gets hit?
If your frog gets hit by traffic, you lose all your gems and receive the minimum item (worth 1 gem). This is why timing your Drop Out is key!

Can I choose any gem amount to play?
No. Hop or Drop uses preset gem amounts only: 5,000 / 10,000 / 30,000 / 50,000 / 75,000 / 100,000 gems. You cannot enter a custom amount.
What happens if I disconnect during a game?
There is no auto-cashout on disconnect. If you lose your internet connection mid-round, the game continues without you. Your frog will continue to the next hop, and if it gets hit, you will lose your gems. We recommend playing on a stable internet connection.
I clicked Drop Out but still lost. What happened?
All game outcomes are processed server-side. There is a very small window between when you click Drop Out and when the server processes your request. If the server had already processed the next hop result (frog getting hit) before receiving your Drop Out request, the loss will stand. This is not a bug — it is how server-side processing works to ensure fairness for all players.
Is Hop or Drop fair?
Yes! Like all games on BOXED, Hop or Drop uses our provably fair system. All outcomes are cryptographically verified, meaning you can independently confirm that results were not manipulated. Visit the provably fair verification page to check any round.
Where do my winnings go?
Won items are added to your inventory. From there, you can withdraw them, trade them on the Marketplace, or keep them in your collection — just like items from boxes or battles.
What items can I win?
The prize pool includes real items such as CS2 skins, knives, trading cards, and more. The specific item you receive is based on the gem value at the time you cash out (your gems multiplied by the current multiplier).
Can I get a refund for my losses?
Hop or Drop outcomes are final and provably fair. Refunds are not provided for standard game losses. If you believe there was a technical error, please contact our support team with details about the specific round.
Can I play Hop or Drop on mobile?
BOXED does not currently have a mobile app. You can play Hop or Drop through your desktop browser at boxed.gg.
I was charged gems but the game didn't start. What do I do?
If gems were deducted from your account but you were not placed into a game round, please contact our support team. Include the approximate time this happened and we will investigate and resolve this for you.
